Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Wednesday that there is a need to link moral education with day-to-day education in today’s time, so that children become knowledgeable as well as cultured since childhood.
The Chief Minister shared this while presiding over an important meeting with the officials of the School Education Department at Shiksha Sadan, Panchkula regarding the National Curriculum Framework 2023 (NCF). School Education Minister, Kanwar Pal Gujjar was also present in the meeting.
The Chief Minister reviewed the school curriculum and held a detailed discussion with the officials regarding the amount of time to be ensured for each subject for character building of children can be done according to the National Curriculum Framework 2023.
He said that moving in this direction, the state government has set a target of fully implementing the National Education Policy-2020 in the state by the year 2025. “The state government is making constant efforts to provide quality education to every child and reduce the dropout rate in the state,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister also directed the officials to prepare an action plan and implement it soon in the direction of setting up PM SHRI schools in the state under the PM-SHRI scheme.
Radical changes by government in field of education
Khattar said that the present state government is laying emphasis on education, health, security, self-reliance and self-respect. “The state government has brought many radical changes in the field of education. Today, Haryana is not lagging behind in the education sector,” he added.
Additional Chief Secretary, School Education, Rajesh Khullar, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Amit Agrawal and other officers of the department were present in the meeting.
