With Highest Literacy Rate Kerala Again Became The Most Literate State Of The Country

As per the NSO survey report, Kerala again became the most literate state while Andhra Pradesh is at the bottom of the literacy chart.

As per the data of the National Statistical Office (NSO) survey, Kerala has once again aroused as the most literate state of the country. Kerala’s literacy rate is 96.2 percent. While Andhra Pradesh is at the bottom of the literacy chart. Andhra Pradesh’s literacy rate is 66.4 percent.

According to the reports of the National Statistical Office (NSO) survey after Kerala, Delhi is the 2nd most literate state with an 88.7 percent literacy rate. These states are being followed by Uttarkhand with a literacy rate of 87.6 percent, Himachal Pradesh with 86.6 percent, and Assam with an 85.9 percent literacy rate.

On the other hand, states which are at the bottom of the list include Rajasthan as the second-worst performer with a literacy rate of 69.7 percent, followed by Bihar with 70.9 percent, Telangana at 72.8 percent, Uttar Pradesh with 73 percent, and Madhya Pradesh with 73.7 percent of literacy rate.

The study of the NSO survey revealed that the overall literacy rate of the country is about 77.7 percent. Further, in rural areas, the literacy rate is 73.5 percent while the literacy rate in urban areas of the country is 87.7 percent.

Among All The States Male Literacy Is Higher Than Women

It has also been observed in the NSO study that the male literacy rate all over the country is higher as compared to the female literacy rate. The male literacy rate of the country is 84.7 percent while the literacy among females is 70.3 percent. The survey has also shown that the female literacy rate compared to the literacy of males is less among all the states.

However, in Kerala, the literacy rate of males and females both are above 95 percent. In Kerala, the male literacy rate is 97.4 percent while the female literacy rate is 95.2 percent.

Similarly, in Delhi the male literacy rate is at 93.7 percent to that among females is 82.4 percent. When it comes to the worst-performing states there was a considerable gap in the percentages of male and female literacy rates. In Andhra Pradesh, the male literacy rate is 73.4 percent, while among females it is 59.5 percent.
