JEE Main 2023 exam begins tomorrow, check important tips here


NEW DELHI: National Testing Agency will be conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main exams for the Second session i..e, April 2023 session from tomorrow across India. The JEE main exam is conducted for admission to B.E./B.Tech. programmes.
As per the schedule, the exam will be conducted on April 6, 8, 10, 11 and 12 with reserve dates 13 and 15 April 2023.
The JEE (Main) comprises two papers. Paper 1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes (B.E/B.Tech.) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments.
JEE (Main) is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs. Paper 2 is conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the country.
The Paper 1 will be conducted for B.E./B.Tech, Paper 2A for B.Arch. and Paper 2B will be conducted for B.Planning. The exam will be held for three hours while for B.Arch. & B.Planning (both) it will be for 3:30 hours.
The JEE Main exam will be conducted in two shits — the first shift exam will be held from 09.00 A.M. to 12.00 Noon (IST) while the second shift exam will be conducted from 03.00 P.M. to 06.00 P.M. (IST).
Carry the following with you on the exam day
* Admit card along with Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the NTA Website (a clear printout on A4 size paper) duly filled in.
* A simple transparent Ball Point Pen.
* Additional photograph, to be pasted on the attendance sheet.
* Personal hand sanitiser (50 ml), if required.
* Personal transparent water bottle.
* Sugar tablets/fruits (like banana/apple/orange) in case the candidate is diabetic.
Prohibited Items
Candidates are not allowed to carry Instruments, Geometry or Pencil box, Handbag, Purse, any kind of Paper/ Stationery/ Textual material (printed or written material), Eatables and Water (loose or packed), Mobile Phone/ Earphone/ Microphone/ Pager, Calculator, DocuPen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder, Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices in the Examination Hall/Room.
Important Tips
Stay calm: It is essential to stay calm and focused while solving the paper. Avoid getting anxious or stressed.
Time management: Time management is very important therefore you should make sure to allocate enough time for each question and section.
Review your notes: Go through your notes prepared while studying and revise important formulas, concepts, and topics.
Solve previous year papers: Solve PYQs to get an idea of the exam pattern, types of questions asked, and the difficulty level.
Take breaks: Take breaks between your study sessions to relax your mind and avoid burnout.
Eat healthy: Eat a healthy and nutritious diet to keep your mind and body energized.
Sleep well: Make sure you get enough sleep before the exam to avoid feeling tired or lethargic.
Practice mocks: Take mock tests to evaluate your performance and identify your strengths and weaknesses.
Focus on accuracy: Focus on answering accurately rather than attempting all the questions.
Stay positive: Lastly, stay positive and believe in yourself. You have prepared well for the exam, and you can do your best.
Important: You are advised to keep a copy of the Confirmation Page, Admit Card, and Scorecard of the JEE (Main) – 2023 as the same will not be available after June 30, 2023.
