Top 10 Indian Institutes featured in Times Higher Education Ranking 2020
Last week, on September 11, The Times Higher Education published their annual World University Rankings 2020. This year 6 Indian Institutes were listed among the top 500 in higher education ranking. This is an increase from the last year featured institutes. Last year 5 Indian Institutes were in top 500 in higher education ranking.
But, for the first time since 2012, not a single Indian Institute managed to feature in the top 300 in higher education ranking.
World Institutes Rankings categorises institute in ranking groups after 200 ranks.
Check out the list of Indian Institutes which got featured in top 500 rankings.
1. IISc Bengaluru
World University Ranking: IISc Bengaluru managed to get featured in the 301-350 ranking group. It is on the top spot in Indian institutes among the top 500 along with IIT-Ropar.
Overall score: 44.5-46.8
2. IIT Ropar
World University Ranking: Ranked under the 301-350 group with IISc Bengaluru.
Overall score: 44.5-46.8
3. IIT Indore
World University Ranking: Grouped among the 351-400 rank group.
It is the second-best Indian Institute after IIT Ropar and IISc Bengaluru.
Overall score: 42.4-44.4
4. IIT Bombay
World University Ranking: Grouped in 401-500 rank group.
Categorised as third best Institute in India.
Overall score: 38.8-42.3
5. IIT Delhi
World University Ranking: Grouped among the 401-500 rank group along with IIT Bombay and IIT Kharagpur.

Overall score: 38.8-42.3
6. IIT Kharagpur
World University Ranking: IIT Kharagpur secured a place in 401-500 group.
Overall score: 38.8-42.3
7. Institute of Chemical Technology
World University Ranking: This institute is positioned under the 501-600 rank group.
Overall score: 35.3–38.7
8. IIT Gandhi Nagar
World University Ranking: IIT Gandhi Nagar also got featured in the top 501-600 along with Institute of Chemical Technology and IIT Roorkee.
Overall score: 35.3–38.7
9. IIT Roorkee
World University Ranking: IIT Roorkee managed to bag a position under 501-600 rank group.
Overall score: 35.3–38.7
10. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham
World University Ranking: This one is the last among the top 10 Indian Institutes. It got a place under the 601-800 ranking group.
Overall score: 28.3–35.2
