The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) will organise a management symposium on the campus from September 29. Union Minister of Information and broadcasting (I&B) Smriti Irani is likely to deliver the inaugural address at the event.
The event begins on September 29 and will end on October 2, 2017, after four days of exhaustive brainstorming sessions that will be held in various forms.
More than 20,000 students from over 250 educational institutions are expected to visit the IIM-A campus. They will be taking part in various workshops, speaker sessions, panel discussions and other activities to hone up their management skills.
THEME AND AIM OF SUMMIT
The theme of the four-day symposium — named as ‘The Red Brick Summit’ — is challenge, innovate, redefine.
The summit aims to succinctly capture the dynamism and constant flux in which we live today. Whether it be the organisational or individual level and transcends national boundaries and cultures, the aim is to reach beyond borders, crossing all hurdles to come out a winner; a winner that is induced with the apt management skills and just the right amount of intellect to got ahead and face the corporate world.
The organisers said in a press release, that IIM-A has decided to club together a number of events, that are organised on the campus every year, into one mega event starting this year.
THE BIG-WIGS TO ATTEND
BJP MP Poonam Mahajan, MakeMyTrip Founder-CEO Deep Kalra, Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (Amul) Managing Director R S Sodhi and ISRO Chairman A S Kiran Kumar will also address the event, a press release issued by the organisers said.
There will be workshops organised by Amazon, Uber, Ogilvy & Mather, NCDEX, Tata Trusts and others, the release said.
