The Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot launched a scheme under which students eyeing to take competitive exams like IAS and RAS will get free coaching at Rajasthan University.
On Sunday, while addressing a video conference on the occasion of the NSUI Foundation Day, the Chief Minister launched the scheme for aspirants aiming for Indian Administrative Service and Rajasthan Administrative Service.
Under this scheme, students who cannot afford expensive coaching can prepare for the competitive exams at central and state levels free of cost. CM Gehlot further promised to distribute free mobile phones to women on Raksha Bandhan. The government plans to give away mobile phones along with three years of internet service to over 40 lakh families. It is estimated that around Rs 600 crore will be spent on this scheme. The government has also planned to organise special camps for government schemes on April 24.
Addressing the issue of government schemes not reaching each village, Gehlot said, “In such a situation, the task of taking the benefits of the schemes to the villagers, the NSUI itself should make arrangements to take information to the public.”
Gehlot also announced to set up a welfare fund of Rs 200 crore for the workers employed in Zomato, Swiggy, Ola, Uber, etc. The government is also planning to introduce the Welfare Act to ensure proper working conditions for these workers.
