The Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ propelled “Higher Education Leadership Development Program for Administrator”– a joint activity of UGC and British Council under the support of UK India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI), which intends to convey an authority development program for center and senior-level authoritative functionaries in Indian Universities.

Shri Amit Khare, Secretary, MHRD; Prof. D.P. Singh, Chairman, UGC; Ms. Barbara Wickham OBE, Director, British Council India and different authorities from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, University Grants Commission and British Council were available during the dispatch of the program.

Talking on the event Shri Pokhriyal said this is a special program that will address the basic part of improving administration limit in the mid and senior level functionaries of Indian Universities. He said that the program will be a stage towards institutional development under our Governments’ promise to improve the nature of education being bestowed in our Universities.

He included that the program will prompt building up an increasingly worldwide standpoint and advance learning for comprehensive and globally associated higher education frameworks that help the monetary and social development in the UK and India. The Minister additionally said that the program will fill in as an energizer for the functionaries to improve their exhibition and abilities which therefore will upgrade institutional profile and notoriety of Universities in India.

The fundamental target of the program is to prepare the senior and center level scholastic overseers to empower them to achieve foundational changes with restored approaches, limits, apparatuses, and aptitude in Universities in India. This “Higher Education Leadership Development Program for Administrators” guarantees adequacy for the authoritative functionaries of the Universities.

This program incorporates two workshops directed by UK coaches, which will prepare around 300 scholastic overseers in the degree of Registrar and Joint/Deputy/Assistant Registrar to empower them to realize a proficient change in the higher education establishments. Further to make the program manageable 30 potential future authority development program mentors from among the 300 members will be picked and will be given extra preparing to prepare others.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) will direct this program in a joint effort with Advance HE as the preparation band together with comprehensively perceived institutional skill and authority greatness from the UK, which is being empowered by the British Council in India.
