CHANDIGARH: The Technology Business Incubator of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) organized Entrepreneurship Day and monthly Innovation Challenge Programme in association with Innovation Mission Punjab (IMP) at Desh Bhagat University campus with Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor of the varsity as the chief guest.
Adhiraj Singh from Innovation Mission, Punjab, presented the details of the Monthly Innovation Challenge (MIC) programme of his department through power point presentation and explained the benefits being extended for new and innovative ideas of the students and the startup companies.
Forty-two students, comprising 23 teams, registered for this event from different institutes of Punjab region. Second phase of the programme was for the students who registered themselves on the spot. In the third phase, shortlisted teams presented their business ideas before the jury members, which were evaluated on the parameters fixed by Innovation Mission Punjab.
Dr JK Sharma, Director, IEDC, interacted with the participants and discussed Desh Bhagat University’s policy for innovative ideas and upcoming startup companies, in which selected ideas are being given Rs 1,00,000 as seed grant to develop their idea and Rs 10,000 towards expenses for company incorporation.
Three teams were declared as first, second and third prize winners respectively and an award of Rs 10000 was given to each winning team.
