Good news for students who love to learn through educational video prohrams. Yes, you heard it right. Educational channels launched by the human resource development (HRD) ministry will now be available on Reliance Jio mobile app and TV.
According to our reports in 2016, the government launched 32 educational channels through DTH, but now, students will be able to connect with education resources via Jio app.
HRD MINISTER’S APPEAL
HRD minister Prakash Javadekar had appealed to cable operators and telecom companies to carry the channels for the benefit of students.
CHANNELS LAUNCHED UNDER THE SCHEME
These channels were launched in 2016 by the HRD ministry under a scheme called Swayam Prabha
According to HRD official, this scheme will help students learn and understand key concepts while sitting at home
Students will now be able to access the content live on their mobile phones with the help of this scheme
After watching the content, students can clear their doubts through a toll-free helpline number that to be uplinked by the Bhaskaracharya Institute of Space Applications and Geo Informatics (BISAG)
Appointed subject experts will be available to provide good quality content by use of pictures, videos and diagrams to make studies more interactive and to help students understand concepts
ABOUT JIO TV’S APP
The app allows Jio subscribers to watch live TV channels and prgrammes from the past 7 days on their smartphones, and now, the web version will let them do the same on laptops and desktop computers
The service is exclusive to Jio users and can be accessed on the official website of Jio
Accessing the service requires users to sign-in using their Jio SIM number and password.
