COMEDK UGET 2020 exam for engineering courses was planned to be held on 1st August. It has been postponed again. The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) in a notification declared that the COMEDK UGET 2020 exam which was earlier scheduled to be held on 1st August has been postponed. The revised date will be announced later.
After the release of revised dates i.e., 1st August, the institution has been receiving applications from the candidates regarding their inability to attend the exam. The major reason mentioned by them was either lockdown in their state or the prevailing pandemic situation in their state.
“This matter was discussed in detail and it has been decided that the health of the applicants is of utmost importance and the same cannot be taken lightly.”
At first, the COMEDK UGET 2020 exam was scheduled to be held on 10th May 2020. But considering the several hindrances posed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the exam got postponed. Later it was scheduled on 1st August 2020 as mentioned in their notification.
But after the declaration of new dates, the panel realized from the media and their agency reports that the exams couldn’t be held on the declared dates in some states. As in few states due to hike in COVID-19 cases, the government had announced lockdown either in the entire state or in some parts of the state.
“But after announcing the date, we learnt from the media and also through our agency that the proposed test cannot be conducted in a few states wherein government announced lockdown in entire states or some states”.
