College Board Announced the India Global Higher Education Alliance
The College Board which organizes SAT examination for undergraduate programmes in various universities announced formally the launch of The Global Higher Education Alliance during the two-day ‘India Global Higher Education Alliance Symposium’ at India Habitat Centre.
Indian higher education has done a tremendous job of meeting the requirements of higher education arena. The College Board is enthusiastic for Indian universities in their quest to refine education system and bring structural reforms in it. This will also assist senior secondary students while accessing the preparation material and to be ready for the rigours of the exam.
Linda Liu, Vice President International at the College Board said, “While the College Board has delivered the SAT and Advanced Placement in India for decades, the time is right for us to work closely with innovating universities in India to provide more access to underserved populations, rethink admissions in an Indian context, and ensure India’s leading universities continue to shine on the world stage.”
The Founding Members of the Alliance have taken all the innovative approaches for admissions and enrolment, and are engaging in practices at the forefront of change in Indian higher education. The Affiliate Members attracted diverse groups of students from their home countries, as well as increasing global recruitment. The main aim of this Alliance is that developing Indian universities can learn from the best practices shared by the affiliate members and adapt those practices to the current context of higher education in India.
India Global Higher Education Alliance Symposium
The two-day “India Global Higher Education Alliance Symposium” focused on every aspect of the Indian education system, ranging from K-12 to Higher education. The Day one of the symposium focuses on the current state of the Indian education system and an overview of higher education enrolment. Another day explored subjects like the challenges and opportunities within the transition from secondary to higher education in India, megatrends in global higher education and international student mobility, and the use of assessments in the admission process.
Adding to this , they have also announced a program called ,the College Board India Scholars Program, where the students of high achieving and low-income would be eligible to take the SAT at reduced costs and obtain full scholarships to India Global Alliance member universities in India that are co-funded by the College Board and Indian Alliance members.
